Positive Assessment goes National

At Genius Within we’ve always ensured that our diagnostic assessments highlight strengths, as well as weaknesses.  This is really important, because you cannot be diagnosed with a neurodiverse condition without strengths.

What?  YES.

You cannot be diagnosed with a neurodiverse condition without strengths.

ALL neurodiverse conditions have strengths [see our infographic for more info].

When making a diagnosis, we plot all the different test results on a graphic and look for specific difficulties.  We can’t see difficulties, if there are no strengths!  The graph below shows what I mean – a neurodiverse ‘spiky profile’ showing peaks and troughs, compared to a relatively flat line (in red) of the neurotypical.

Spiky profile no dyslexia

In our Positive Assessments, we deliberately seek out the strong abilities, and explore things like working memory in more detail, so that we can find the areas that are working well and build strategies on these abilities.

Positive Assessments are a key part of our NOMS CFO3 delivery and employability support, as well as our work in Universities and Occupational Health.
