The Employment Related Services Association (ERSA) is the membership body for the employment support sector. Established in 2005, ERSA campaigns for and supports the delivery of ever better services for the nation’s jobseekers and learners.
Genius Within have been proud members of ERSA for a number of years, and regularly attend various forums and events where we benefit from the knowledge, energy and enthusiasm of the people and organisations that have matching aims.
ERSA’s objectives are simple. They are to:
- Drive understanding of employment support as a ‘national good’, essential for current and future jobseekers, employers and the health of the economy and communities.
- Work with commissioners and funders at all levels to invest in and design the best possible services against an ever changing backdrop.
- Influence the wider policy environment to ensure that it supports people in their journey to enter and progress in work
- Support and challenge the sector and so increase skills, knowledge and effectiveness.
As part of this, ERSA undertakes research into good practice, campaigns for policy changes that will help both the sector and jobseekers and supports a range of initiatives aimed at driving up standards of delivery.
Our CEO and founder, Nancy Doyle is excited (and slightly nervous) to have been nominated to sit on ERSA’s board of directors. Voting is happening now, with all ERSA membership organisations getting one vote each, and we will find out in April if she is successful.
Nancy believes the ERSA board role would be an opportunity to use her academic, front line and contractual experience to support the development of the employability profession and reputation of ERSA as an industry representative, honing and disseminating good practice, such that we can collectively continue to achieve social progress.
She also has the energy, professionalism and enthusiasm to do a really good job!
