Genius Within CIC, a pioneering organisation that helps neurodiverse people to fulfil their potential, has been shortlisted for the ‘Community Organisation Award for Disability’ at the National Diversity Awards (NDA) 2020. The award recognises groups, charities and voluntary organisations that make an outstanding contribution to the community, with diversity as their focus.
A record breaking 64,000 people submitted nominations this year, across 15 categories, and the results are now in. 126 nominees have been recognised for their tireless efforts to combat injustice and discrimination in very different ways.
CEO of Genius Within, Dr Nancy Doyle said “with over 1,500 entries for the Community Organisation Award for Diversity this year, we feel honoured to have been shortlisted. As an organisation our goal is to champion the positive profile of neurodiversity. We have found that breaking down systemic barriers and providing evidence-based, professional support enables more people to thrive, playing to the power of their strengths.”
Designed to highlight the country’s most inspirational and selfless people, the NDA’s continue to gain endorsements from high profile figures. This year, activist Katie Piper, presenters Alex Brooker & Ade Adepitan MBE, and Emmerdale star Ash Palmisciano dedicate their time to help create the shortlist.
Paul Sesay, Founder and CEO of the National Diversity Awards added, “The profound impact made by all our nominees is astonishing, and I feel personally encouraged to know that so many lives are being changed for the better due to the many causes being championed by all of you.”
Community organisations and role models from across the UK will head to the breath-taking Liverpool Anglican Cathedral on 26th February 2021 to witness the winners being crowned the best of British diversity.
